JSU led 27-21 at the half. The story of the first 20 minutes was how active the Tigers' defense, Paris Collins, in particular, was. JSU held onto a 39-36 lead with 11:06 left but Grand Canyon used a 13-2 run over the next three minutes to grab a lead it never relinquished.

The Antelopes (27-6) scored 36 points in the first 28:54 of the game, then scored 28 points in the final 11:06 to put an end to the Tigers' season.

Joshua Braun led Grand Canyon with 18 points and was perfect, 10 for 10, at the foul line. Collins led JSU with 15 points and forward Janarius Middleton added 13.

Raeford Worsham, who was the rock of the Tigers' 11-win season last year, ended his JSU career with 14-point effort.

The Tigers end their season at 20-16 and won 20 games for the first time since 2007. It was the the first time they had won a postseason game since 1993 when they defeated UCONN in the NIT.

JSU was the only program in the SWAC to win a postseason game and were playing their seventh game in 13 days.
